(AP) -- Events are being held this weekend in the New York town that hosted the original Woodstock festival 45 years ago.
The activities range from a "Hippie Thanksgiving" being offered Thursday at a restaurant in the town of Bethel to a Friday night showing of the Academy Award-winning "Woodstock" documentary on the field where the three-day music festival was held.
Some 400,000 people gathered on Max Yasgur's Sullivan County farm from Aug. 15-17, 1969, to hear such acts as The Who, the Grateful Dead, Santana and Jimi Hendrix.
Jeryl Abramson owns Yasgur's Farm. She tells the Times Herald-Record of Middletown that she's welcoming visitors to her property to enjoy music, camping and other activities.
The nearby Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is hosting the film showing to commemorate the 45th anniversary.
