News 12 spoke with local women's organizations in the Hudson Valley amid the wave of sex assault and harassment allegations against movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.
Antoinette Klatzky is the executive Director of the Eileen Fisher Leadership Institute in Irvington – an organization dedicated to empowering young women. She's also involved with other women's organizations.
"I am the chair of the Westchester Women's Agenda and we came out recently with a report on the status of women in Westchester and we're definitely seeing that domestic violence, harassment sexual assault, these are all things that are happening constantly," she said.
Cindy Kanusher, the executive director of Pace Women's Justice Center in White Plains, says the Weinstein allegations "isn't a Hollywood story."
"At the Women's Justice Center, we have a legal help line and we get calls from women who tell us they have been sexually harassed or sexually assaulted at work and they don't know what to do or where to go," Kanusher told News 12
Klatsky says there are resources available in Westchester County to help young women prepare for the unfortunate obstacles they may face in the workplace.
"Our hope is that it does prevent things like the Harvey Weinstein's of the world being able to do things like this," says Klatzky.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revoked Weinstein's membership Saturday.
