A woman has filed a federal lawsuit against Tesla over the death of her husband in a Rockland County crash in 2022.
The lawsuit claims that J-Yung Hoo Hahn was driving on the Palisades Interstate Parkway near Exit 10 in Clarkstown when the vehicle malfunctioned and collided with a tree near the driver's side rear door. The vehicle then ignited and engulfed him in flames.
The lawsuit goes on to say that Hahn survived the initial impact with the tree but was unable to escape from the vehicle and died in the fire.
The lawsuit states that Tesla is being sued for its role in designing, manufacturing, distributing and selling the vehicle in an unreasonably dangerous and defective condition.
