A legally blind Brewster woman is crediting her guide dog with saving her life in a bus accident several days ago.
Audrey Stone and her golden retriever guide dog, Figo, are both under doctor's care after a frightening run-in with a Brewster school bus on Monday.
Stone says as they were crossing the street, a school bus came from out of nowhere and ran into them. She says Figo did what he could to stop the bus and protect her from the impact.
Stone was rushed to a trauma center in Connecticut, and Figo to his vet in Mahopac. Since the crash, the news of Figo's heroic acts have turned him into a viral sensation.
Stone says she has only two things on her mind: making a full recovery and reuniting with Figo. This is the first time they have been apart in six years.
