White Plains officer dragged by alleged drunken driver
A White Plains police officer was injured after being struck and dragged by a vehicle that was driven by an alleged drunken driver.
Officials say the suspect, identified as Nino Valvano of Mount Kisco, was being questioned by an officer outside of Lola's Restaurant at around 4 a.m.
Police say that's when Valvano struck and dragged the officer for about 100 feet on East Post Road.
After dragging the officer, police chased Valvano onto I-287, where he was stopped and arrested.
The officer was treated for minor injuries and released from White Plains Hospital. His identity is not being released.
Valvano is being charged with several felonies, including assault of a police officer.
