More than 100 emergency responders near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, are searching for a missing young boy from White Plains.
Jayden Morrison went missing at around 6 p.m. Christmas Eve from his grandmother's home, located in a wooded, rural area.
The 4-year-old's mother says he is autistic, cannot speak and often does not even respond to his own name.
Horry County police in South Carolina say the wooded area where the boy went missing is filled with numerous bodies of water, and is a place he is completely unfamiliar with.
Rescue workers combed through a five- to 10-mile radius from Morrison's grandmother's home and will continue to search throughout the night and Friday morning.
White Plains Police Commissioner David Chong says his department has been notified of the missing boy, and will be on the lookout if he appears back in New York.
Officials have not ruled out a possible abduction to explain the disappearance, but are still considering it a missing person investigation.
