The Mount Pleasant school district is mourning the death of a Westlake High School senior.

Sarah Lynch, a student in the class of 2021, was killed in a one-car accident on Monday.

Mount Pleasant police say she was driving on Kensico Road, when she struck a utility pole. She died at Westchester Medical Center.

Sarah was a member of the track team and a familiar face on the district’s monthly broadcasting class program.

The high school will be open from 1-3 p.m. today, from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, and 1-3 p.m. Friday with counselors available to meet with students in small groups or individually.

Lynch is survived by her parents and two brothers.
