Westchester students head back to school
Students across Westchester headed off to the first day of school Wednesday as half the districts started the school year.
Elementary schools were filled with nervous kids and nervous parents on the first day. At Bedford Road School in Pleasantville, Principal Peggy Galotti joined teachers in welcoming the children, as did a special guest.
State Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins (D-Yonkers) did her best to ease students? nerves. Stewart-Cousins says everyone is looking forward to having a great school year.
The rest of the school districts start Thursday.
