Westchester students celebrate Obama's inauguration

Hundreds of students, parents and teachers gathered at the auditorium of Peekskill High School Tuesday to celebrate the inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th president of the United States of America.

Hundreds of students, parents and teachers gathered at the auditorium of Peekskill High School Tuesday to celebrate the inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th president of the United States of America.
?It's amazing,? says 18-year-old senior Patricia Haye. ?I've never felt this way before. I'm happy I'm alive to see this.?
Wiping away tears of joy and holdings up signs of support, many students and guests were overwhelmed by the significance of the occasion.
?This is nothing short of a defining moment for American history,? says senior class president Nicolas Reynolds.
Many students say seeing the first African-American president sworn into office gives them a renewed hope for the future.
?I'm proud to be an American today,? says junior Laura Egan. ?Today shows the message we convey: Equality.?
