The limited amount of affordable housing is still causing problems for the residents of Westchester.

In recent years more affordable homes have been added to the county, but experts say it is not enough to accommodate all of the people that are in need.

Community members met with officials Sunday to discuss their rising concerns with the lack of affordable housing at the Community Unitarian Universalist Congregation in White Plains.

Alexander Roberts, executive director of Community Housing Innovations, says that Westchester has approved 700 more affordable housing units but it is not enough to house the county’s workforce.

Roberts also says part of the solution is tackling how affordable housing projects are approved.

The issue will be discussed at a housing forum at Yonkers Riverfront Library on Nov. 1.
