Greenburgh police say they responded to a report of a stolen puppy Wednesday.
Surveillance video from Westchester Puppies and Kittens appears show a young couple taking off with a French bulldog.
Store workers say the couple acted as if they were purchasing the canine.
"It was just crazy. Your mind is kind of all over the place when something like this happens because it's one of the last things you would expect,” said store worker Megan Moore.
Workers said the dog did have a microchip in it.
The store is offering a small reward for any information on the people responsible.
