There's a grassroot effort in Westchester to send aid to earthquake ravaged Turkey, thanks to a Westchester mother.
Donations for Turkey are piling up at the Turkish-owned European Beauty Spa in Mamaroneck.
After earthquakes ravaged Turkey, Funda Suer quickly mobilized local Turkish moms through a Facebook group she created called Westchester Turkish American Moms.

They raised more than $13,000 within days for the Turkey Earthquake Relief Fund and gathered donated blankets, clothes and items for children.

Last weekend, local high school students and community members boxed up some of the donations and shipped them to Turkey.

Another shipment leaves this Sunday.
"We are just local moms. Our aim, major aim is to just bring the community together friendship and development some stronger community here," says Suer.
Those who would like to help the donations grow can drop off blankets, sturdy tents and temporary toilets at the European Beauty Spa in Mamaroneck.
The deadline is 12 p.m. on Saturday.
They are also asking for financial donations. Monetary donations are going to Bridge to Turkey Fund, which is purchasing large family tents, mobile toilets and industrial water tanks in Turkey.
