A Westchester man documented his trip home from abroad and described what it's really like to fly during a pandemic.
Nick Capicotto is back in White Plains after completing his master's degree in London.

He flew from Heathrow to John F. Kennedy International Airport to return home.
"They let you wear the mask through the medal detector...the only time they had you remove a mask was to verify your face for your passport," he says. "They allowed us kind of move our seats if we wanted to space out better."

He says the flight was one-third full, but he still had one person sitting directly behind him.
Capicotto also says in-flight service was sparse.

He spent eight hours with a mask on, although he wasn't required to wear it while in the air.

Capicotto said as soon as he got off the plane, he was handed a health assessment form that was given to him during the flight that asked about past travel in the last two weeks and if he had any symptoms.

He said passengers' temperatures were checked and masks were handed out before customs.
He was also told that he needed to stay home for 14 days.

Capicotto is now self-quarantining and monitoring any potential symptoms, but says he is happy to be back in America during such an unusual time.
