With most gyms around the region still closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, one Westchester entrepreneur is seeing his at-home fitness business skyrocket.
More and more people stuck at home are turning to at-home fitness systems, with online classes, to keep up with their workouts.
“We call it a home studio, it comes with everything you need for floor workouts, yoga workouts, obviously bike workouts as well for cardio, HIIT training, Pilates, Barre. It really is an alternative to a traditional gym,” says MYX Fitness president Herbie Calves.
The Katonah resident is making commercial-grade spinning bikes available at half the price of its biggest competitor Peloton- and MYX fitness members don’t have to worry about competing with anyone but themselves.
“They’re looking for fitness solutions that’s going to help them be a better parent, be a better sibling, be a better employee. They’re not motivated by the types of workouts that are more competitive, to see themselves at the top of a leader board,” says Calves.
