Prices at the pump are jumping three cents daily, according to analysts. In Westchester, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.11. The lowest price News 12 Westchester could find in the area was $3.09 in White Plains. Driver Brett Goldstein says he?s 40 and this is the first time he has seen prices so high.
U.S. Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) is urging the Federal Trade Commission to investigate the jump at the pump. Schumer and other lawmakers want to know whether the increase is legitimate, or the result of price gouging.
