While Republican Rob Astorino wasn?t able to defeat incumbent Westchester County Executive Andy Spano, he is considering getting back into politics.
Astorino says he has been asked by supporters in Mount Pleasant, Greenburgh and Yonkers to run for state Assembly this year. Astorino is looking at the seat currently held by Democrat Richard Brodsky, who is leaving the Assembly after 12 terms to run for state attorney general.
Astorino admits the race would be an uphill battle for a Republican. So far, Legislator Tom Abinanti (D-Greenburgh) is the only announced candidate for the seat. Astorino says he will make a decision before the GOP convention in May.
