Westchester bans trans fat from county restaurants

In a unanimous vote Thursday, the Westchester Board of Health voted to ban the use of trans-fat cooking oil in all food establishments in the county. The aim of the ban is to keep residents healthy.

Westchester bans trans fat from county restaurants
In a unanimous vote Thursday, the Westchester Board of Health voted to ban the use of trans-fat cooking oil in all food establishments in the county.
The aim of the ban is to keep residents healthy. Westchester is following in the footsteps of New York City, where a similar ban was already passed. The health commissioner says getting rid of unhealthy fats will actually help save lives.
