More than 1,200 cadets began their basic training at West Point Wednesday.
Young men and women arrived Wednesday morning at the U.S. Military Academy for Reception Day, which begins their six weeks of basic training.
Among the numerous activities, cadets will be organized into companies, meet their platoon sergeants, receive their supplies and get a haircut.
The class of 2018 includes cadets from all 50 states and 14 international cadets. The new class also features a record number of both women and minorities.
