Heavy rain and strong winds made for a treacherous morning commute today.
In Greenburgh, traffic moved at a crawl due to a downed tree hanging over Route 100 by West Hartsdale Avenue.
Drivers say that driving conditions caused delays across the region. "It took me about 90 minutes, about 45 minutes longer than usual, to come up from the city; everything is flooded; going about 10 miles an hour everywhere," says Marc Brown, of Manhattan.
Other drivers say some roads are almost submerged and that hydroplaning is a real problem. "You got to be patient and understand that flooding is going to cause people to have to pump the brakes a little, pump the brakes today," says Jose Rodriguez, of White Plains.
