WC gets hit with another dose of wet weather
Commuters in Westchester are dealing with another round of wet weather Friday.The storm's effects brought a tree down on the Saw Mill River Parkway near Roaring Brook Road. Although the road was temporarily closed due to the tree, officials managed to reopen the parkway around 7 a.m.Commuters at the Tarrytown train station said the weather wasn't having a significant impact on their morning commute. Some said they were taking earlier trains and others simply said they think they have an easy commute.
Things were also moving along on the Tappan Zee, although the speed limit was reduced to 45 mph. Wednesday's storm caused major delays on numerous road due to severe flooding. There were also service disruptions on area trains and the subway service in the city was crippled by the storm's effects.
MTA representatives said in order to avoid a repeat of Wednesday's woes, additional pumps have been placed in flood-prone areas. Buses have also been added to transport commuters just in case.
