County Legislator Andrea Stewart-Cousins (D-Westchester) announced Sunday her intention to once again challenge incumbent state Senator Nick Spano (R-Yonkers) in the Senate race. She lost the last election by just 18 votes, after the longest recount in state history. During her announcement speech, Stewart-Cousins promised to deliver another spirited campaign. Democrats say they hope to chip away at the Republican majority in the Senate. The 35th District, which includes most of Yonkers, Greenburgh and Mount Pleasant, is comprised of many swing voters, Democrats say.
