Volunteers make care packages for soldiers
Hundreds of children and adults from White Plains took part in Make a Difference Day Saturday, creating special care packages for wounded soldiers.
Participants of the event, organized by the Volunteer Center of United Way, put together nearly 200 boxes containing donated items for injured servicemen and women who will be recovering during the upcoming holidays at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
"They'll know we're here to make them happier and thank them for what they're doing," says sixth-grader Nicholas Arzola.
