Hundreds of local volunteers were in action this weekend honoring Martin Luther King Jr.
Volunteers took part in community service projects at Iona College and Dominican College.
The day is meant to empower and strengthen communities and bridge barriers. "Hundreds of volunteers have joined volunteer New York in the 10th annual MLK Day of Service where we are honoring the legacy of Dr. King by coming together and doing good deeds for local non-profits and really making fabulous communities grow even stronger," says Volunteer New York! Executive Director Alisa Kesten.
Volunteers helped support several local charities including the Humane Society of Westchester, Kids Kloset, and Meals on Wheels.
