Two volunteer firefighters have been honored for saving a family from a burning home in Rockland County.
New City Fire Lt. Brendan Wren and Firefighter Thomas Gerlich were recognized for their heroism and dedication to the community on Thursday.
Last month, they were on South Little Tor Road when they saw a house on fire.
The pair woke up the family inside and rescued an elderly woman who was unable to get out.
All of this was done without any safety gear or fire equipment.
