The Village of Sleepy Hollow held a board meeting to debate whether the thin red line flag should be flown on firetrucks.
The department says the flag is meant to represent the firefighters who pay the ultimate sacrifice on the job.
However, some associate the flag with being political and as part of the blue lives matter movement.
At the board meeting, Sleepy Hollow's fire chief says those who lose their lives in the line of duty shouldn't be turned into politics.
