The Village of Ossining swore in its third mayor in the past two years Monday.
Democrat William Hanauer has been on the Ossining Village Board for almost two years, but he just became the village?s mayor. Former Mayor Eugene Napolitano resigned last spring after announcing he?s moving to Georgia. While Miguel Hernandez was appointed to finish Napolitano?s term, he decided not to run for the job in November.
In his inaugural address, Hanauer called for open but civil debate at board meetings. He also said the village must look toward the future and not dwell on the past. Also during his address, Hanauer praised Hernandez for his brief tenure as Ossining?s mayor.
