Dozens of people attended a vigil Monday night in White Plains to honor the people who died in the shootings over the weekend in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio.

Kelly Marx organized the vigil with hopes it would allow people to not only have an emotional release, but to also call out officials who have refused to support gun control legislation.

"We can call our senators, register to vote, register other people to vote and actually vote in every single election," Marx said.
The 19-year-old says if the nation's leaders continue to ignore the public's outcry, they'll have to be voted out.

Moms Demand Action, county officials and a Westchester woman who survived the Las Vegas shooting in 2017 were among those in attendance.

Many at the vigil said only action taken at the federal level can begin to address the epidemic.
