A vigil was held in Yonkers in memory of Felix Perez Mejia, a long-time day laborer and resident of the city for 37 years. The event occurred in front of 320 Yonkers Ave, where Mejia used to wait for work every morning.

Mejia was a member of Obreros Unidos, an independent agricultural labor union. Community organizer Danielle Kollias spoke highly of Mejia, describing him as "one of the most dedicated and passionate persons you can find about working." She added, "We really cared about him. So, we'd love to honor him today and for all his dedication and for all his hard work and all of his friendship that he's given to us throughout the years."

Felix Perez Mejia passed away suddenly last Friday, leaving a community to mourn his loss and remember his contributions.
