Video of a violent bar dispute in Poughkeepsie has gone viral and prompted a police investigation.
Cellphone video appears to show a bar bouncer at Milo's Cantina on Main Street in Poughkeepsie choke-holding and body slamming a customer to the ground during a dispute over a bar tab Thursday evening.
The bouncer is heard trying to hash out the bill, while the motionless customer, Mike Boyce, is seen motionless and face down on the ground. Boyce posted the now viral video to Facebook and YouTube.
A witness continued to record the incident through the glass window after he was told to leave. The video shows the customer kneed twice in the face at that point.
The video has sparked outrage.
The bar told News 12 it wouldn’t comment on the incident and referred News 12 to their attorney. The apparent victim, who is also seeking legal counsel, was unable to comment for the story.
The bar's attorney responded by email saying the video is not a full depiction of what happened, and that the customer was intoxicated and posed a safety risk.
