Friends and family gathered at Sinatra Funeral Home in Yonkers Friday to say their final goodbyes to a father of two who was killed in a car crash earlier this week.
Police and witnesses originally thought the accident that resulted in the death of 27-year-old Jonathan Montes De Oca happened during a drag race, but family and friends of the victim dispute this claim. They say Montes De Oca was just speeding when he crashed into a pole on Warburton Avenue Monday.
?Everyone is saying he was drag racing,? says family friend Lizvette Gonzales. ?Jonathon would never put his life in danger like that or anyone else's life. He loved his family too much.?
Relatives say Montes De Oca worked two jobs to support his wife and two children, an 8-year-old son and a 3-month-old baby boy.
Following the funeral services, Montes De Oca was laid to rest at the Oakland Cemetery in Yonkers.
Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the high-speed crash that killed the young father.
