The Postal Service issued an apology today after customers in Middletown complained about unsupervised packages being left in unsafe locations.
News 12 is told Middletown postal officials have been instructed to review delivery protocols with the employees involved. 
Customers who were affected will be contacted to prevent any similar problems in the future.
