A total of $2.8 million has been secured for the Route 9 Westchester RiverWalk Transit connector in Tarrytown, according to Sen. Chuck Schumer.
The money was included in a spending bill signed by President Joe Biden last month.
The project is a component of the broader Westchester RiverWalk connection.
That's a proposed riverfront bicycle-pedestrian path beneath the Gov. Mario Cuomo Bridge that will link existing segments of the RiverWalk in Tarrytown and Irvington.
It's also a missing link in efforts to complete a 51-mile trail from Yonkers to the Westchester-Putnam border.
