Yonkers is voluntarily testing the quality of water in its schools for unsafe levels of lead.
The city began testing all of the faucets and fountains at the 39 buildings in the school district back in April.
About 25 water outlets have been shut off so far due to unsafe lead levels. Officials say that Lincoln High School had the most issues in the district, and had to have 10 water fixtures shut off.
Yonkers school officials say tests showed that no contaminated water was coming into the buildings.
They say old faucets, pipes and drinking fountains made with brass fittings and other materials are the source.
