Two separate car crashes on opposite ends of Yonkers have left six people, including a 3-year-old girl, in serious condition Sunday morning.
Residents near the intersection of Ashburton and Woodworth avenues say they awoke to the sounds of a car crashing into a tree so hard its roots were uplifted. Police say it took more than an hour to get the four victims out of the vehicle. One was a 3-year-old girl who was sitting on her mother?s lap and not in a child safety seat. All four were taken to the hospital and treated for serious injuries
The second incident, a two car collision, occurred on Bronx River Road near Wakefield Avenue. Witnesses say police had to cut off the roof of one car to rescue a man. The man was flown to Westchester Medical Center where he is in critical condition.
