Two more people stabbed in Yonkers
<p>A rash of stabbings continues to plague the city of Yonkers. Police say two men were rushed to the hospital early this morning after being stabbed on Warburton Avenue around 2 a.m. today. </p>

Police say two men were rushed to the hospital early Monday morning after being stabbed on Warburton Avenue around 2 a.m.
Officials say they got a call from a woman who said her 52-year-old roommate had come home drunk and attacked her two sons with a pocketknife after an argument. Her sons, aged 26 and 36, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
This is the sixth stabbing in the city in the past 10 days. The stabbings come on the heels of a 19-year-old being fatally stabbed at a Yonkers movie theater over the weekend.
Leaders in the Yonkers police force are calling for more officers on patrols in the city to curb the violence, but the Yonkers PBA president said too many vacant positions are not being filled.
Mayor Mike Spano says he would love to fill the five vacancies on the force and even add more but that his hands are tied. He blames the problem on Albany. He says the city hasn't seen in increase in municipal state aid in nearly a decade and that it has put the police department in a financial crunch.
Yonkers Police Commissioner Charles Gardner says they've made arrests in four of the six stabbings. Police have also started zeroing in on a suspect in the movie theater attack, according to Gardner.
