Two injured in garbage truck crash
Two people were rushed to the hospital today after a car crash involving a garbage truck in northern Westchester.
Police say the crash happened just after 8 a.m. on Shingle House Road in Millwood. The truck driver says he was heading south when a car veered into his lane. The truck driver swerved, lost control and flipped over.
Police say a driver of a Mercedes, coming from the opposite direction, slammed into the roof of the truck. The impact caused the airbags to deploy and the car to bounce back around 100 feet.
The driver of the Mercedes was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital, and the driver of the garbage truck was taken to Westchester Medical Center. Both suffered non-life threatening injuries.
