Television coverage led to a happy reunion for a mother whose 5-year-old son went missing 10 days ago.
Police say the boy?s father, Sebastian Reed, picked him up after school, even though he was not on an approved list to do so. Tiara Logan, the boy?s mother, is currently in a custody dispute with Reed and was worried about her son?s safety because Reed is homeless. Police say Reed took his son to Brooklyn, where he works part time. An employee there saw a TV report about the missing boy and contacted authorities.
Logan, who has full custody of her son, is angry with school officials for allowing him to leave with his father. Mount Vernon police say the boy's father will not be charged with any crime, but he has been referred to family court.
