A Bedford Hills realtor decided to Turn to Tara after she says a car dealer took a down payment but never delivered the vehicle.

Customer Elena Schartner showed News 12 a receipt from Sept. 29 for a $400 down payment on a $1,400 van at Vinter Autosales.

"I saw an Astro van cheap. That's where they get you," she says.

Schartner says she was told to return to the tiny dealership, located behind a strip mall on Miller Road in Mahopac, after the down payment to pick up the car the next morning. When she went there, they told her they needed an extra day to get the title.

Three weeks later, Schartner still didn’t have the van and asked for her money back.  The dealership told her she couldn’t have the money refunded.

After News 12 payed a visit to the dealership, Schartner received a check from the dealership.
