Tuckahoe officials are offering safety tips after a coyote was seen on a home security camera.
The Tuckahoe Police Department said on Facebook that the coyote was spotted at Dante Avenue in the village's Parkview Heights section.
The Department of Environmental Conservation says to never let a coyote approach anyone.
If approached, the department says to act aggressively, stand tall and hold your arms out to look big. You may even need to make loud noises, wave your arms or throw sticks and stones.
If coyotes start coming around your neighborhood often and don't seem to be scared of humans, you should contact the police or the DEC for help.
