The northbound lanes of the Saw Mill River Parkway in Pleasantville were closed off Tuesday morning after a truck smashed into two overpasses.
Westchester County police say the incidents happened at about 9 a.m. when the truck's driver, Timothy Johnson of West Grove, Pa., hit two stone overpasses. The top and side of the truck were ripped off, spilling some of the cabinets he was transporting onto the roadway.
According to police, Johnson was unfamiliar with the area and restrictions on the use of the Parkway to noncommercial vehicles. One car was slightly damaged when it was hit by some of the truck's debris.
The northbound lanes of the Parkway remained closed for about two hours, while workers cleaned up what was left of the truck and the cabinets. No one was injured in the incident, but the driver was ticketed for having his truck on the Parkway.
