A tractor-trailer driving illegally on the Hutchinson River Parkway slammed into a Rye Brook overpass this morning.

The truck driving in a northbound lane crashed into the King Street overpass around 4 a.m. today.

All northbound lanes were closed and traffic was being diverted off onto the King Street exit before being allowed back on to the parkway.

The top of the trailer was completely sheared off but emergency crews were able to get the truck off the parkway shortly after 5 a.m. All northbound lanes have since reopened.

It is illegal to drive trucks on any of Westchester’s parkways. It is unknown yet if the driver has been hit with any fines or charges.

No injuries have been reported
