Business and property owners are dealing with cleaning up the aftermath of Wednesday?s tornado that ripped through central Westchester.
Tree cutting services are seeing a big boon in business in the wake of the storm. However, crews face the danger of downed electrical lines and unstable trees while trying to make sure properties are safe for residents. The owner of California Closets, which was partially collapsed by the tornado, is cleaning up and filling more work orders. The owner says he plans to start installing closets again next week.
As the cleanup continues, The Westchester County Consumer Affairs Department urges people not to hurry with cleanup and repairs, with the exception of emergencies. It advises residents and business owners to get multiple estimates and check that contractors are properly licensed.
