An Airmont family had an unfortunate wakeup call this morning when a tree crashed into their home on Feller Court.
Homeowner Tommy Lennon tells News 12 he was sleeping when he heard an incredibly loud crash around 4 a.m. It didn’t take long to discover the source of the noise was a tree that fell right above his bedroom.
Lennon says he was lucky the tree only smashed through the roof and penetrated the attic. “I felt like I was sleeping in a bowling alley because there was all kinds of crashing and noise, and the dogs went crazy and then I got up and realized there was a tree coming in the top of the house.”
Lennon says no one was hurt, and there was no structural damage. He says chainsaw crews will take the tree down later today.
