High winds brought a tree crashing down on a car driving on the Saw Mill River Parkway on the Yonkers-Hastings border Friday.

Police say the driver was headed south on the parkway when the tree fell onto the car. A large limb punctured the windshield. The driver was fortunate to walk away from the accident without any injuries.

A similar occurrence happened in April 2004, when a tree crashed down on a car, killing a couple in the front seat. Since the fatal accident in 2004, the state Department of Transportation says it has been working diligently to take down problem trees before they come falling down.
