Traffic violation leads officers to drug bust
Three men who were pulled over for a traffic violation on Thursday night are now in jail for the possession of drugs.
According to police, Michael Divincenzo, Teiothorake Seymour and Jordan Cole were pulled over after they made an unsafe lane change while heading north on I-87. Police say the three were inconsistent with their stories of where they were coming from and where they were heading.
State Trooper James Leeder and his partner, a German Shepherd named Robbie, were called in shortly after. Leeder says the dog dragged him to the trunk and began to scratch at the car. Upon opening the trunk, police say 30 pounds of marijuana was discovered.
Police say that the marijuana found was hydroponic, which means that it is more concentrated and more valuable. Officials say they also found oxycodone pills and narcotics during the search. They believe the men were transporting the drugs from New York City to an Indian reservation near the Canadian border.
All three men are being held at the Rockland County Jail on $25,000 bail.
