News 12 New Jersey has obtained traffic camera footage that shows the moment of impact in a deadly school bus crash in May.
The footage shows a Paramus East Brook Middle School bus cut across several lanes of traffic on Interstate 80 in Mount Olive. The bus is parallel to the road when it is hit by a dump truck, causing the bus to overturn.
The students were on their way to a field trip when the driver missed an exit and allegedly attempted to make a U-turn on the highway.
Fifth-grader Miranda Vargas and teacher Jennifer Williamson-Kennedy were killed. Dozens more were injured.
The driver, Hudy Muldrow, is charged with two counts of death by auto. Criminal charges will be presented to a grand jury in the upcoming months.
