A Somers town official is at the center of a sordid legal battle involving his ex-girlfriend.

Kelly Reilly, the ex-girlfriend of Somers Highway Superintendent Thomas Chiaverini, filed papers in state Supreme Court Thursday in which she accuses him of fraud, assault and other infractions.

At the center of the dispute is ownership of a Purdys home the couple once shared. Chiaverini technically has the title to it, but Reilly says she was tricked into signing over the deed to him in 2003 for an amount well below market value. The lawsuit seeks the return of the house and damages for pain and suffering.

Chiaverini?s attorney says the allegations against his client are false. Chiaverini still has misdemeanor assault charges pending against him for allegedly attacking Reilly in the home earlier this year. Reilly now has an order of protection barring him from the home. He's served Reilly and her two children with an eviction notice.
