A tow truck driver in Westchester County is being credited with saving two people’s lives.
Heriberto Virella is a tow truck operator for Hannigan's Auto Body in Port Chester and assists local and state police by aiding drivers he sees on the side of the road.

Virella was patrolling westbound on Route 287 around 2 a.m. Friday when he heard a loud bang behind him in the opposing lanes.
That is when Virella says he saw two male individuals - the passenger was slouched over with his head between his knees and the driver was slouched over on his left, drooling from the mouth.

Virella says he immediately called the New York State Thruway and within 3 to 4 minutes, units were on the scene to find the two young men unresponsive.

"One of the troopers said they may possibly be overdosed - so they went ahead and took the Narcans out of their vehicle and administered it to both individuals," said Virella.

Both men were taken to the hospital, and one was released on Saturday.
