129ds agoFriendly Hands Food Bank in Torrington held a pet food and pet supply giveaway today.
The food bank has been holding pet food giveaways each month since April 2021.
They gave away dry food and wet food for dogs and cats, as well as crates, collars, and even pet beds.
Executive Director Karen Thomas says the distributions are made possible thanks to generous donations from the public and Friendly Hand's partnership with animal rescue The Little Guild in West Cornwall.
Some of those who received pet food from the giveaway also received an at-home COVID-19 test kit.
This month's distribution comes one day after what would have been Betty White's 100th birthday. Organizers remembered White as an advocate for pets and animals, and they thought the event would be a great tribute to honor her.
