Commuters who travel across the Gov. Mario Cuomo Bridge may see a rise in toll prices starting in 2021.
The increase is being proposed by the board of directors for the State Thruway Authority. After the toll moratorium on the bridge is lifted at the end of 2020, E-ZPass toll pricing may increase from $4.75 to $5.25 in 2021 and $5.75 in 2022.
If travelers wish to pay by mail, their increase may go from $6.83 in 2021 to $7.48 the following year.
Although the proposal isn’t immediately popular, it isn’t nearly as high as other bridges.
The 40% commuter discount will remain intact.
The State Thruway Authority is set to hold hearings and accept public commentary prior to the said changes.
